Blind Japanese crosses Pacific for the first time

Blind Japanese sailor Mitsuhiro Iwamoto crossed the Pacific Ocean.

Axar.az reports citing Japan Times.

As noted, no one else has done in the world before.

“I didn’t give up and I made a dream come true. I’m the happiest person on earth,” Iwamoto said.

During the trip, he overcame about 14 thousand km. left the western U.S. city on Feb. 24 aboard his 12-meter boat Dream Weaver with navigator Doug Smith.

The man managed to cross the Pacific Ocean on the second attempt. His first attempt ended when his boat hit a whale and sank.
