340 people recognized as affected by Trans-Baikal wildfires

More than 340 people have been recognized as affected by wildfires in southeast Siberia’s Trans-Baikal region, the Russian Emergencies Ministry’s press service told on Saturday.

Axar.az reports citing TASS.

"All in all there are 342 people, among them 53 children," the ministry said.

Fifty-five people, including 21 children, have been placed in temporary accommodation facilities.

A series of wildfires that have been burning in southern and southeastern areas of Russia’s Trans-Baikal Region, have affected 14 settlements. The monitory noted that the fire destroyed 109 buildings, of which 90 are residential houses.
