Karabakh's fate should be resolved through diplomatic means

"Nagorno-Karabakh's fate should be determined through political and diplomatic means", Russian Foreign Ministry's spokesperson Maria Zakharova said at a briefing on May 6.

"I would like to reiterate that among the principles of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict’s settlement are joint statements adopted in the years 2009 to 2013 of the Azerbaijani, Armenian, and Russian presidents that the status of Nagorno-Karabakh should be determined based on the legally binding expression of will of the region's people,” Zakharova added.

Russia, along with the other co-chair countries, stands ready to provide full assistance in achieving this goal, Zakharova noted.

The spokesperson added that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict’s settlement continues to remain on Moscow’s agenda.
