The aftermath of wildfires in Russia's Trans-Baikal Territory is being cleaned up according to plan, Russian Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Envoy to the Far East Federal District Yury Trutnev said.

Axar.az reports citing Interfax:

"Efforts to clean up the aftermath are proceeding in accordance with the approved plans and in accordance with the president's decree, if we speak about the Trans-Baikal Territory and the fires. All of these steps are under control," Trutnev told reporters after a meeting of the council under the auspices of the Russian presidential envoy to the Far East Federal District in Vladivostok.

The government has allocated all necessary funds to deal with the aftermath of the floods in the region, he said.

"All of the steps the federal government had to take to allocate funds [for the regions affected by the floods] have already been taken. Now this work should continue on the territory of the constituents under the supervision of the heads of these regions," Trutnev said.

Trutnev said at the council's meeting that the Jewish Autonomous Region and the Khabarovsk Territory are still facing major floods, ordering the heads of the regions in the Far East Federal District to personally oversee cleanup efforts after the floods.
