Ex-Tunisian President Ben Ali, 83, dies in Saudi Arabia

Former Tunisian President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, 83, died on Thursday in Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah city, according to his lawyer.

Axar.az reports citing Anadolu Agency.

Mounir Ben Salha, former president's lawyer, confirmed the demise in a post on Facebook.

Earlier, Salha had said that Ben Ali was sick and transferred to a hospital in Jeddah.

He was living in exile in Saudi Arabia since he was ousted by a popular revolution on Jan. 14, 2011.
