Japan has rejected Trump's request

Japan has rejected the US request to increase the cost of maintaining military contingent in the country.

Official Tokyo said the US demand was too high.

Japan has also said that the costs of maintaining the US military contingent are sufficient.

Under the agreement between the US and Japan, Tokyo pays $ 2 billion annually for US military presence in the country.
