Azerbaijani, French FMs mull Karabakh conflict

In the framework of his official visit to France, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov on Thursday met with his French counterpart Jean-Marc Ayrault, the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan informed, local media reports.

During the discussion, the sides exchanged their views on the results of the high-level Vienna meeting on the settlement process of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.


The FMs stressed the importance of respecting the ceasefire and full restoration of the negotiations process in order to arrive at a political solution to the conflict.

Mammadyarov praised the French side’s readiness to organize the next meeting of the Azerbaijani and Armenian presidents in the soonest time agreed upon during the Vienna meeting.

The sides then went on to discuss other issues on the agenda of bilateral relations.
