U.S. President Donald Trump said Monday he will be revealing his long-awaited "deal of the century" plan to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict on Tuesday.
Axar.az informs citing Turkish media.
"It's a very big plan, it will be a suggestion between Israel and the Palestinians. It's the closest it's ever come and we'll see what happens," Trump told reporters at the White House while hosting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
"We have the support of the prime minister, we have the support of the other parties, and we think we will ultimately have the support of the Palestinians, but we’re going to see,” the president added, noting the plan will be unveiled at mid-day Tuesday.
Trump is slated to meet Israeli opposition leader Benny Gantz later Monday in the Oval Office.
Palestinian officials, however, have rejected the plan altogether, and a Palestinian official said President Mahmoud Abbas has turned down Trump's request to speak by phone ahead of the plan's rollout.
Israel's Channel 12 and 13 has said Trump's plan would recognize Israeli sovereignty over virtually all settlements in the occupied West Bank, which are illegal under international law.
