8 countries called on UN: Stop sanctions

Iran, Syria, North Korea, Venezuela, China, Russia, Cuba, and Nicaragua have called for an end to unilateral sanctions against their countries to fight the coronavirus.

Axar.az reports this information was released by foreign media.

The countries sent a letter to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres demanding the immediate lifting of unilateral sanctions.

The letter stressed the need to lift sanctions imposed by the United States, the European Union, and the UN Security Council and not to politicize the pandemic in order to effectively combat the coronavirus.
