The US has allocated $ 1.7 million to Azerbaijan

The US State Department and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) have provided $ 1.7 million in medical assistance to Azerbaijan to combat the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by the US Embassy in Azerbaijan.

The funds were allocated for the development of laboratory systems, increasing the activity in the detection of new infections and the conduct of major surveillance, as well as support for response and training technicians and increase communication efficiency in risk situations.

Earlier, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the United States had allocated $ 274 million to help countries most affected by the coronavirus. These funds will be distributed among 64 countries. Armenia is among the countries receiving assistance. The United States has allocated $ 1.1 million to the country.
