The sanctions imposed by the United States in the context of the coronavirus are medical terrorism.

Axar.az reports that the statement was made by Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif. According to him, Iran has a strong healthcare system:

"But the US`s illegal blockade of Iran's financial resources destroys our access to medical facilities and medical supplies. This leads to a humanitarian catastrophe. Although Iran is a country rich in minerals, including oil and gas, it is deprived of financial resources due to US sanctions. Anti-Iran sanctions limit the Iranian government's ability to purchase medical equipment and medicines. Restrictions on the banking and financial sectors damage Iran's purchases of humanitarian goods. European companies do not sell medical supplies to Iran because of US threats. The United States uses economic and medical terrorism against Iran."
