Colombia has asked NATO for help in fighting the coronavirus.

Axar.az informs that, the statement came from the Alliance.

"On April 6, the North Atlantic Disaster Response Center received a request from Colombia for assistance in preventing the spread of the coronavirus pandemic," NATO said.

Colombia has reportedly asked NATO for 5,000 rapid tests to detect the coronavirus, 3,000 mechanical respirators, 2,000 infrared thermometers and 2,000 defibrillators.

So far, 46 people have died from the coronavirus in Colombia.
