Complete extinction of the new type of coronavirus depends on vaccine and drug production.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from World Health Organization spokesman Christian Lindmeier.

He said it was not clear how soon vaccines and medicines would be available.

"Currently, we do not have an accurate forecast. It is known that the vaccine can be produced only in 12-18 months. The development of the vaccine is very important for our success in the fight against the pandemic.''
