US sanctions have negatively affected Iran's fight against a new type of coronavirus.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from Iranian President Hassan Rouhani at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.

He said the United States was violating the terms of the World Health Organization (WHO) convention on non-interference in the fight against the disease.

"Under the terms of this convention, countries must help each other fight the virus. The United States insists on its wrong ideas about the pandemic and this will go down in history. The White House, which is still an economic terrorist, will go down in history as a terrorist in the health sector."
