Tajikistan closed its borders

The Tajik government has decided to temporarily close the entry and exit of foreigners to the country.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from the Foreign Ministry of Tajikistan.

"In order to take urgent measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection, all border checkpoints in the Republic of Tajikistan have been temporarily closed for entry and exit of foreign citizens and stateless persons," the statement said.

The decision will not apply to foreign diplomats, representatives of international organizations and financial institutions, as well as their families in Tajikistan.
