The European Parliament welcomes Turkey's work with the Libyan government.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from European Parliament member Andrea Cozzolino.

He said that Turkey's presence in Libya is important:

"We hope that they can play an important role in ensuring peace here."

Cozzolino said that the cause of the crisis in Libya was Khalifa Haftar, who attacked the capital Tripoli:

"The war in Libya is over. Everyone should enter into a dialogue. To end the crisis, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Egypt must advise Haftar. These states should help the Libyan side not to give arms, but to lay the groundwork for peace. We do not want the events in Yemen to be repeated in Libya. The European Union is working to help bring peace to Libya."
