What’s important is that the tension between Russia and Turkey does not negatively affect the Russian-Azerbaijani relations, said Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Vladimir Dorokhin.

He made the remarks on Friday during the meeting with a group of students at Azerbaijan State Economic University.

The diplomat noted that Moscow appreciates Azerbaijan’s well-balanced policy on this issue.

“Our cooperation has withstood the test. One of the senior Azerbaijani interlocutors told me that,“ we are much more concerned than you over what is happening in the Russian-Turkish relations. I think he was not exaggerating,” Dorokhin said. “History shows that there have always been complicated relations, several wars between Russia and Turkey. However, we have always reconciled. I hope it will happen in the current situation. It is up to the Turkish side. They know what to do,” he added.
