British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has instructed experts to develop a plan to supply the country with essential medical items and other strategic products.

Axar.az reports this information was spread by the Times newspaper.

The newspaper said Johnson was trying to end Britain's dependence on Chinese imports.

The Times said the program, called Project Defend, would identify key economic stakeholders. Two interdepartmental groups have already been established for this purpose. The goal of the groups is to diversify supplies, upgrade and support strategically important production.
