The measures taken by Japan against the coronavirus have been successful.
Axar.az reports that the statement came from WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.
He said that at the time of the rapid spread of the pandemic, the number of daily infections in Japan averaged 700:
"Now that number has dropped to an average of 40," he said. At the same time, the death rate from the new type of coronavirus in the country has reached a minimum.
Tedros also touched on the government's lifting of the state of emergency in Japan. Although some serious measures have been taken, the Secretary-General has warned of the need to implement key measures such as surveillance and social isolation.
