NATO's response to Lavrov's proposal: Refused

Russia and NATO have failed to agree on a postponement of military exercises during the coronavirus pandemic.

Axar.az inform this was reported by Kommersant newspaper.

According to the newspaper, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov sent a letter to Brussels regarding the postponement of the exercises. Russia has said that abandoning the exercises could be a constructive and positive step.

The letter also noted that Moscow has reduced military activity on the border with NATO countries.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg responded to Russia's letter. In response, the Secretary General said that NATO's activity was defensive and was linked to Russia's activities in Eastern Europe.
