Israel is in a state of emergency due to a coronavirus pandemic.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

He did not rule out that the government will take additional restrictive measures:

"We are at the centre of a renewed coronavirus attack. It is a very strong attack. This attack affects the whole world, including us."

According to Netanyahu, the new wave is a signal to the health care system.

The Israeli leader said that the Knesset could not continue its legislative work against this background as if nothing had happened.

Over the weekend, there was a sharp increase in coronavirus infections in Israel.
