Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili has issued a statement on tensions on the Azerbaijani-Armenian border.

Axar.az reports that, the head of state stressed the importance of peace and security in the region.

"Today, at a time of joint struggle with the invisible enemy, it is important to maintain international solidarity and global stability. Peace and stability in our region are important for the future development and progress of both Georgia and friendly and partner countries - Azerbaijan and Armenia," she said.

Zurabishvili noted that the necessary steps will be taken in a timely manner and further escalation of the situation through peace talks will not be allowed.
