The resolution adopted by Germany's Bundestag (parliament) on recognizing the 1915 events as "Armenian genocide" is biased, said Hikmat Hajiyev, spokesman for Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry.

Hajiyev noted that falsification of history and using it for political ambitions is unacceptable.

He said the German parliament has been indifferent to Armenia’s aggression against Azerbaijan and ethnic cleansing of more than a million Azerbaijanis in their homelands in Armenian territory and in occupied Azerbaijani territories as well as the Khojaly genocide, and then approved the so-called Armenian genocide claimed to have happened 101 years ago.

He called the [resolution] a striking example of double standards.

“The expression of position regarding this historical falsification is aimed at confusing the German public and the international community,” Hajiyev underlined.
