5000 new COVID-19 cases registered in Russia over one day

Russia confirmed 5,118 new COVID-19 cases in a day.

Axar.az reports that according to the Operational Headquarters, Russia's death toll reached 15 thousand, as 70 others have died over the past day.

As many as 3,259 coronavirus patients were discharged from Russian hospitals in the past 24 hours.

Moscow lifted restrictions including compulsory travel passes on June 8, a move welcomed by residents who rushed out to enjoy the streets and parks. Many other regions lifted lockdown restrictions ahead of a July 1 national vote despite the pandemic.

However, Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency, Rosaviatsia, has extended Russia's ban on international flights until Aug. 1 due to the coronavirus.
