China has imposed sanctions on 11 US officials.

Axar.az reports that Beijing has responded to the restrictions imposed by the US Treasury Department on Chinese and Hong Kong officials.

"These sanctions come into force today and apply to 11 US officials," the Chinese Foreign Ministry said.

Earlier, Washington imposed sanctions on Chinese Communist Party officials for violating Hong Kong's autonomy and human rights.
