The United States has amended a bill to impose an arms embargo on Iran.

Axar.az reports that according to the amendment, the article on sanctions against Iranian diplomats has been abolished.

In addition, the bill excludes items that would accuse Iran of carrying out airstrikes on Saudi Arabia in September 2019 and US military bases and embassies in Iraq in December of that year.

Commenting on the issue, US Permanent Representative to the UN Security Council Kelly Kraft said that the purpose of the new law is to prevent the free sale of weapons by Iran.
