Turkey to reopen universities on Oct. 1

Turkey will reopen universities on Oct. 1 with measures in place to counter the coronavirus, the country's higher education head said Thursday.

Axar.az reports citing Turkish media.

"As of today, we asked universities to plan their education calendar starting on Oct. 1," Yekta Sarac said.

"We have given universities a wide range of options to choose from in order to lower the number of students in campus and reduce their free movement," he added.

Schools and universities across the country were closed in mid-March as part of measures to curb the spread of coronavirus.
