Azerbaijan checking whether any citizens among victims

Azerbaijan's Embassy in Turkey and Consulate General in Istanbul are checking whether there are Azerbaijanis among victims of the June 7 terrorist attack in Istanbul, Hikmat Hajiyev, spokesman for Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, APA reports.

Hajiyev said that Azerbaijani diplomatic missions are keeping in touch with law enforcement agencies of Turkey.

Eleven people were killed and 36 more were injured after a police car was blown up in Turkey’s Istanbul city on June 7.

Seven of the dead are police officers.

According to the Turkish NTV TV channel, one Azerbaijani citizen was injured as a result of the explosion.
The health condition of three of the injured is very serious.

Turkey's authorities haven't made official statements on the explosion.
