The death toll from a 6.6-magnitude earthquake in Turkey's Izmir province has risen.

Axar.az informs reports that the death toll from the quake rose to 76 and the number of injured to 962.

The death toll in Turkey from Friday's powerful earthquake in western Izmir province has risen to 91, the country’s disaster agency said Monday.

A total of 994 people were injured, with 774 of them discharged from hospitals and 220 people still under treatment, the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) said.

Search and rescue teams are focusing on five buildings demolished in the 6.9 magnitude earthquake, according to AFAD.
