Navalny to EU: Sanction Russian oligarchs

Sanctions against Russia's wealthy population could be effective in relations with Moscow.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from Russian opposition blogger Alexei Navalny during a meeting of the European Parliament's Committee on International Relations.

"It's all about the money. Real sanctions must be against real money. It does not make sense to add to the list of sanctions those who do not have an account in foreign banks. The real target should be the oligarchs around Putin," he said.
