Turkish defense minister meets Pakistan naval chief

Turkey's Defense Minister Hulusi Akar on Wednesday met with Pakistan's naval chief Adm. Muhammed Amjad Khan Niazi in the capital Ankara.

Axar.az reports that Tukey's naval chief Adm. Adnan Ozbal also attended the closed-door meeting, the country's Defense Ministry said.

According to a statement by the Pakistan Embassy, the top officials discussed matters related to further boosting defense ties, progress on the ongoing defense projects including the construction of four MILGEM ADA class corvettes as well as mid-life upgrade of Agosta 90B-class submarines.

During the meeting, prospects of initiating joint production projects also came under discussion.
