Armenia's COVID-19 cases reach 140,959

Armenia confirmed 1,265 new coronavirus cases, bringing the nationwide tally to 140,959.

Axar.az reports citing the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health.

The death toll reached 2,309 as 32 more fell victims to the virus. So far, 116,066 people have recovered from the infection.

The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) emerged in late 2019 in China’s Hubei province, and the virus has spread to more than 200 countries and territories since then.

On February 11, the WHO officially named the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) as COVID-19, and on March 11, declared it a pandemic.
