The US has demanded China end its pressure on Taiwan

The US State Department has called on China to end all pressure on Taiwan.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from US State Department spokeswoman Ned Price.

"We urge Beijing to end its military, diplomatic and economic pressure on Taiwan. Instead, a constructive dialogue should be launched with Taiwan's elected democratic representative. The United States is concerned about China's continued attempts to intimidate its neighbours.

He said Washington would continue to provide military assistance to Taiwan."
