Iraqi forces kill 5 ISIS militants in Baghdad

Five ISIS militants were killed in an Iraqi security operation north of Baghdad, according to a local security officer on Saturday.

Axar.az reports citing foreign media that Police Captain Ahmed Khalaf told Anadolu Agency that a joint force from the Iraqi army and the Hashd al-Shaabi (Popular Mobilization) Force shot dead five ISIS suicide bombers in al-Tarmia district, north of Baghdad.

He said three members of the Hashd al-Shaabi were killed and two others injured in the operation.

According to the police officer, the dead militants were responsible for staging attacks against Iraqi security forces in al-Tarmia.

The ISIS terror group is still active in areas north of Baghdad. Last month, the terrorist group claimed a twin bombing in Baghdad, which killed 32 people and injured dozens.
