The Canadian Parliament has recognized Uighur genocide

The lower house of the Canadian parliament has recognized the situation of the Uighur population in China as genocide.

Axar.az reports that the bill on genocide was introduced by deputies from the opposition Conservative Party. 266 deputies voted in favour of the bill.

During the vote, ministers from the ruling Liberal Party (who are also members of parliament) said they would not take part in the process.
