The arrest of the leader of the Georgian opposition party is a matter of concern.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from NATO Secretary General's Special Representative for Central Asia and the Caucasus James Appathurai on his Facebook account.

"NATO expects its close partner, Georgia, to maintain democratic standards. This includes resolving political differences through dialogue and avoiding polarizing rhetoric and actions,” Appathurai said.
