Tbilisi has taken a step back from democracy - the US

The US Embassy in Tbilisi has issued a statement regarding the arrest of Nika Melia.

Axar.az reports that the statement expressed deep concern over the arrest of Melia.

"Unfortunately, the calls for dialogue between the United States and other international partners have been ignored. We are concerned about the rhetoric of the Georgian leadership on polarization. Power and aggression are not the solutions to political differences in Georgia. Today, Georgia has taken a step back from strengthening democracy in the Euro-Atlantic family," he said.
