The Armenian government is considering several candidates to replace Chief of General Staff Onik Gasparyan.

Axar.az reports this information was spread by "Past" newspaper.

According to the report, the first candidate for the post of the government is Deputy Chief of Staff Andranik Makaryan. However, Makaryan refused the appointment.

The other candidate is Jalal Harutyunyan. It is said that Harutyunyan's health makes it impossible for him to join the army.

The main candidate is the government of the former and so-called "nkr" "Defense Minister" Mikail Arzumanyan.
