According to preliminary data and testimonies of witnesses, the accident was caused by a sudden change in weather conditions.
Axar.az reports that the statement came from Turkish National Defense Minister Hulusi Akar.
"As a result of the accident, 11 people were killed and two were injured. May God have mercy on our martyrs and offer our condolences to their families. Investigations into the accident are ongoing," Akar said.
A military helicopter took off from the Turkish city of Bingol last night and crashed in the Tatvan district of Bitlis.
