Critical visit: Michel and Leyen to meet with Erdogan

Council of Europe President Charles Michel and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will arrive in Turkey today.

Axar.az reports that they will be received by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The meeting will focus on the transition to a visa-free regime, the renewal of the Customs Union agreement and the situation in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Ankara will also demand the start of a negotiation period for EU membership.
