Russia: Iran must approve this document on the Caspian

Russia hopes that Iran will ratify the Convention on the Legal Status of the Caspian Sea, signed in 2018, as soon as possible.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. He said that in this case, the document will come into force and strengthen the foundation of cooperation in the Caspian Sea.

The Convention on the Legal Status of the Caspian Sea was signed in August 2018 in Aktau. The document was approved by Azerbaijan in February 2019.
