Russia and Iran support a long-term political settlement in Nagorno-Karabakh on a just basis.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

"Taking into account Russia's mediation efforts, we discussed the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh. We stressed the importance of overcoming the consequences of the conflict and achieving a just political and diplomatic settlement of the peoples. We looked at the role that the countries of the region can play in this process," he said.
