As in Karabakh, international law must be applied when the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states are not respected.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from German Chancellor Angela Merkel during a video conference speech at the spring session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe in Azerbaijan.

"It is important to comply with the laws adopted jointly. These laws should be applied when there is a threat to peace. These laws should be applied when the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states are not respected. Karabakh is an example. The Council of Europe should play an important role. they must cooperate with each other," he said.
