Moscow and Ankara may differ on a number of issues, but dialogue with Russia needs to be kept open and interaction continued.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavushoghlu in an interview with German media. He said Ankara was trying to establish business relations with Moscow.

"It is not always easy to achieve positive results. This does not mean that we agree on all issues. But we speak openly. The important thing is to keep the dialogue channels open.

Turkey must defend its national interests. Russia understands this. We cooperate with Russia whenever possible, but we resolutely defend our position when necessary."
