Putin sent a letter to Ilham Aliyev

Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated the leaders and citizens of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Abkhazia and South Ossetia on the 76th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War.

Axar.az reports this information was spread by the Kremlin's press service. According to the report, Putin also sent a letter to the peoples of Georgia and Ukraine:

"It is our moral duty to pass on and preserve the memory of the events of those difficult years to future generations. We must resolutely oppose any attempt to falsify history, to reconsider the consequences of the Great Patriotic War, to justify the atrocities committed by the Nazis."
