US Congressman: Neither Israel nor Hamas is humanist

The United States must intervene in the rapidly escalating tensions in East Jerusalem and mediate a ceasefire to bring a two-state solution closer.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from Jamal Bouman, a member of the US House of Representatives.

He stressed that the name Jerusalem means "city of peace."

"The forcible eviction of families, the use of force during worship, the destruction of holy sites are not humane steps. Neither Hamas rocket attacks nor Israeli airstrikes can be humane steps.

I am concerned about the violence against worshipers at the Al-Aqsa Mosque in East Jerusalem during Ramadan, the military coup in Myanmar, the genocide in Ethiopia, the police violence in Colombia, and the ethnic cleansing of Uighurs in China.

"I urge the Biden administration to do everything in its power to reduce these tensions around the world."
