Council of Europe called on Athens: Stop this!

Greece must stop returning migrants to its borders.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights Dunja Mijatovic in a call to Greece.

"Although there is ample evidence that Greece has deported migrants to Turkey or released them at sea since 2017, Athens simply denies them. We call on the Greek leadership to put an end to these actions.

In addition, the standard of living in refugee camps in the Greek islands is very low," Mijatovic said.
