Over 8000 new coronavirus patients identified in Iran

A sum of 8,005 new patients infected with COVID-19 has been identified in the country based on confirmed diagnosis criteria during the past 24 hours.

Axar.az reports citing foreign media that Iran’s Health Ministry Public Relations Center said on Saturday, and added, "1,175 patients have been hospitalized during the same time span.”

It further said that the total number of COVID-19 patients has increased to 2,823,887.

“Unfortunately, 187 patients have lost their lives in the past 24 hours, increasing the number of the dead to 78,381," the ministry noted.
