Major terrorist attack averted in Turkey

A major terrorist attack has been averted in Turkey’s Diyarbakir province, the Anadolu Agency reported June 21.

The province police have located a mined truck.

Reportedly, the terrorist attack was planned by the militants of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) terrorist group.

The conflict between Turkey and the PKK, which demands the creation of an independent Kurdish state, has continued for over 25 years and has claimed more than 40,000 lives. The UN and the European Union listed the PKK as a terrorist organization.
