The CIS discusses training for a joint air defence system

The CIS Chiefs of Staff will discuss the training of a unified air defence system.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from Russian Chief of Staff Valery Gerasimov.

"During today's meeting, we will discuss the military-political situation in the CIS, consider the establishment of air and space defence, and the training of a unified CIS air defence system," he said.

The meeting is being held in St. Petersburg. The meeting is attended by military representatives of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

Azerbaijan is not a member of the CIS joint air defence system.
